Brief introduction of Botswana
Botswana is a landlocked country surrounded by South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia(the world’s shortest border of 150m), and Namibia and has English and Tswana as an official language. A country that is mostly covered by a desert has an official name as the Republic of Botswana. The currency of Botswana is Pula.

Botswana is one of the largest diamond-producing countries in the world having 5 diamond mines which include the world’s richest mine known as Jwaneng. The diamond production helped the economy of the country a lot.
Least corrupted country
Even after having diamond-rich mines, this country comes under the list of the least corrupted country ranked by the World Economic Forum and Transparency International.
The country name comes from the people
The country is named after the people who are in majority of about 80% known as Tswana. Other ethnic groups are Kalanga, Basarwa, Kgalagadi, and 2% white people, all of them sum up to a population of 2.021mn approx. Under the British empire, it was called Bechuanaland but after independence, it got the name Botswana.
Mostly desert area
Mostly covered with the desert area(Kalahari desert) around 70%, but it is not a desert area in a true sense as most of its area got an adequate amount of rainfall upon which most lives rely on.
Pula is valuable
As you know by now, that rain is very crucial and valuable in Botswana. The country named its currency Pula (which means rain).

Yes, despite it has 70% area covered with desert, it also has the world's largest inland Okavango delta which is on the list of UNESCO’s World Heritage site as well as in 7 wonders of Africa.

The combination of the Okavango Delta and Kalahari make this country unique and highly adaptive to various flora and fauna. This unique geography attracts many species such as swimming cheetahs, rhinos, wild dogs.
World largest elephants
It has more than 40% protective area as it has various national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, etc while having a high concentration of the world’s largest Afrikaan elephants.
Unique Tribe
What is more unique about this is the tribe called Bushmen. It is considered that this tribe is one of the ancient tribes coming from the old stone age. They talk in a very unique language(Khoisan) consist of a variety of click sound.
